Pendarvis via fiction workshop.

ABSTRACT:
The Weirded is a collection of short fiction and illustrations that
explores the writing process and the use of symbols and imagery in the art of
storytelling through the organization and juxtaposition of short stories, vignettes,
and collages.


SIGNIFICANT ACADEMIC RESEARCH

"Scissors and Paste"
June – August 2010
Research that addressed facture through the examination of bricolage and DIY
with a review of the ways in which the integrity of both disciplines have been
translated into fine art.

“Meta-metaphor”
December 2009 – February 2010
Academic research done in conjunction with my senior thesis about the
postmodern use of symbolism in the visual and literary arts, including self-
referencing subjects and the appropriation, degradation, and rejection of symbols.

“Synesthesia as Artistic Discipline and Sensory Phenomenon”
March – April 2007
Research paper regarding synesthesia and the adoption of the sensations
associated with this medical phenomenon by artists and writers as inspiration,
theme, and rhetorical device.
