Strange Flight

This composition is the effort of drawing, collage,
and digital photo manipulation. I wanted to capture
the nature of paper and give the impression of
wings in flight. I drew the insect and added depth to
the wings by pasting vellum over them. I then
scanned the image. In Photoshop, I copied and
rotated the wings multiple times, varying the
transparency of each. The "sky" is a napkin stained
with blueberry juices.
